Abbie Lyons & Lucy Nast- RAG Reps
Hey guys! My name is Abbie and I have the pleasure of being one of your Rag Reps for your fresher year in Rigg Rut! I am 19 and I come from the land of Essex Girls! I am currently studying Criminology and Social Policy though I spend half the week in bed or supporting IMS games
What Lucy and I do is basically organise people to go on Rag Raids around the country and partake in certain events all of which involve collecting and raising money for charity. It all goes on to our RAG total and at the end of the year there are awards and rewards for the highest collectors!
I have been volunteering at special needs play groups, peer support groups and the odd charity since I was about fifteen. I love getting involved in as much as possible and would recommend doing the same to make the absolute most of your fresher year! I am nuts about sport, having taken part in every IMS event from canoeing and tug of war to netball and poole. I also love skiing and swimming and taking full advantage of all the nights and days out the social secs put on.
Rigg Rut made me feel at home straight away so get involved and get to know as many of us as you can! Lucy and I will be banging down your doors to get to know those Rag keenos from the word go so show Rigg Rut how much you wanna be here and make yourselves known So excited for all you freshers to arrive, though I'll be sad to call myself a Second Year! Erugh! Lots of Rag loving, Abbie xxxxx
Hey Hey, I’m Lucy and I’ll be one of your RAG reps for your coming fresher year! I study Graphic design which should consume my time completely but of course Rigg-Rut can be very distracting.. I would just like to say a big congrats getting into Loughborough and if you choose to stay in Rigg-Rut we’ll make sure you have the best three years of your life.
Being your RAG reps, Abbie and I represent us as a hall in all the charity work we do. You can take part in raids all over the country, collecting money for a range of charities. From Manchester to London we’re there and to make the experience even better you can even team it with a cheeky night out. It’s an amazing opportunity to go in badass fancy dress and shout your head off trying to get people to donate and there are even rewards for the amount of money you raise!
We may be the second smallest hall on campus but the amount you can get involved in is incredible, from Inter Mural Sport to Action (helping the community) and then to our legendary socials you will never have a dull moment.. I certainly haven’t. You’ll hear many people say take part in everything thats thrown at you and you should, plus if you don’t you’ll hear us shouting from the courtyard to make sure you do! Can’t wait to meet you all in September! Ragging love Lu x
