George Williams, Luke Thomson, Anna Wakefield & Kate Sparling- Sport Secs
My names George Williams (Willow) and I am 1 of your 2 Male Sports Secs! I’ll be working with Luke as well as our Female Sport Secs to make sure Rigg-Rut smashes IMS next year; I’ll be organising training and taking fixtures in a lot of our IMS sports. You’ll be surprised how many sports there are to get involved in.
As for myself, I’m 19, from Milton Keynes and currently studying (failing) Sport & Exercise Science, so if you have any questions about the course, avoid asking me! I’m always up for a laugh and dishing out some banter. I play 1’s football for the university and love getting involved in a bit of IMS.
IMS kicks off just after freshers, which will be the best 2 weeks of your life! I guarantee that. Feel free to add me on Facebook ‘George Williams’ and I look forward to meeting you all!
Sports Sec Love, George x
Hi, I'm Kate and I'm your female sports sec along with Anna. I'm 19 from Kent and studying English Literature at Loughborough. I'm generally not the most talented at sports but I try, although ballet is my thang and I dance for uni slash professional slut dropper in Cogz.
Our job is to get as many of you girlies involved as possible in IMS matches and training, IMS really isn't about being talented (although it helps) its about enthusiasm and dedication to your hall. So just get involved with everything and anything because it goes so quickly, and theres a sport for everyone!
Congrats on getting into Lufbra, the best bubble in the world, and make sure you choose Rigg-Rut, cos its the loveliest hall on campus. Looking forward to meeting you all in September, prepare for the best three years of your life, uniunay/no parents/no bedtime.
Loads of love, Kate xxxxx
p.s feel free to add me on facebook, winky face
Hey everyone,
I’m Anna and I’ll be one of your female sport secs for the next year. My job, along with Kate, is to try to get as many girls involved in IMS (intermural sport) as possible, and to make sure you all have an amazing time whilst doing it! It’s a laid back atmosphere compared to playing for the uni, so don’t be scared to get involved! Events for girls range from the usual hockey and netball, to more obscure events such as rock it ball and tag rugby. There’s a sport out there for everyone so I’m expecting to see a lot of keen faces when we start up the year!
As for me, im 19, from Manchester and study Geography with Sports Science. Sport has always been a massive part of my life, currently I play hockey for the university, and I used to play both hockey and tennis at a county standard. I’m easy going and very chatty so don’t be afraid to ask me anything.
Deciding which hall to live in is a massive choice for anyone to make, but whether its sports, socials or even raising money for charity, Rigg Rutt always gives 100% and so I promise you that you’ll be in for an amazing time. Make the most of your first year and freshers week, there really is nothing like it!
Sports Sec Love xx
